NAME,
yes, the famous onyx of volkenon has names and nicknames. his entire name reads ONYX FREYR NJÖRÐR, and all three names have a special meaning to them. onyx is a form of cryptocristalline quartz, taking on the color of black. his middle name means "lord, master", representing his leadership over the fiery kingdom that he rules over with his vast army. his last name is translated into "strong, vigorous", due to his mental mind that seems impossible to penetrate. he has obtained various nicknames, such as the inferno king, and the most famous of all, ring of fire. the nickname's due to his vast collection of spells, and the many volcanoes that surround his kingdom.
AGE,
watching his comrades dying on the battlefield, his parents and close friends drifting to heaven or hell by natural causes, and his subjects fading away from common sickness. it's not surprising that he's been living for more than a few centuries, with him being a titan and all. despite being four hundred years old, he has kept up a youthful appearance about twenty two – too young according to some people, but age doesn't matter. he's lived just as long as the other titans.
GENDER,
as being the inferno king, he is clearly a male, and nothing else. heard of a female king? no you haven't.
ORIENTATION,
sexual... orientation? no really; he's some closet person that can't admit that he's either or. just kidding. he hasn't really bothered with the term "sexuality" at all, since for him, he's a titan, so he doesn't have to worry about that stuff. due to sovereign circumstances, he has claimed to be heterosexual. onyx doesn't like talking about his sexuality too much, and even though odin gave up his youngest daughter to as a bride, he's been closed up on this topic. he's supposedly "engaged" to her in some way.
RACE,
his true form – a fiery beast composed of magma and steel. he's powerful with wielding fire and living for as long as the other titans tells others that he's indeed a titan; the one that rules over the rapid fires of volkenon. in his regular, more human form, he appears as a man with short black hair, standing at the colossal height of six foot eleven (6'11).
ALLIANCE,
he'd never thought that odin would give up his own daughter as a peace offering. with odin trying to shower him with gifts – in hopes that a peace treaty will be negotiated, his political ties with his own kingdom are tightening. he stands alongside volkenon – the giant pit of fire that he governs. he's wary of odin and his desperate ways for a peace treaty, and with odin's daughter and the gungnir spear in his arsenal, he's been immersing himself in "self-questioning". gradually, his powers are rising upwards, sending worries out to the citizens of his kingdom, and the neighboring ones. he's starting to loosen his ties from the other kingdoms, but to achieve it, he has to keep a form of close bond with the demon kingdom, so he can get undercover help if requested.

+POSITIVE,
even though onyx controls fire, it doesn't mean that he's easily excitable and sweet-talking. he prefers to be eloquent in court, giving him an upper hand in topics that involve intense persuasion on his part. due to odin giving him his youngest daughter and the gungnir spear, he has changed from being an expressive man, to more of a intelligent soul. he's naturally courteous and is rarely seen bursting out with rude emotions in his mouth if someone lashes out on him. with so many years of living among the rich and constant pampering, he has developed a debonair charm about him – holding a sophisticated and carefree aura around him. he's determined to stay out of the war, since onyx doesn't want to have any part in it, unless the situation calls for it. he's noted to be sharp, and always speaking with hard-headed intelligence.
-NEGATIVE,
he can act like quite the scholar at times, but with the world of erion being caught up in a war, his emotions are troubling him quite a lot, causing the great inferno king to become violent, which he has been showing great intensity in his emotions even through a single word. he's cheerless and annoyed by the persistent on-goings that has been created. with these coincidences playing a crucial part in his life – by creating great roadblocks that take him a while to break down, he has kept a reserved profile, keeping a low encounter albeit he participates in many court-related interrogations, negotiations, and the like. with life going on as it is, he stands as a rebellious king, resisting authority and most of his sentinels and vassals, when they think onyx shouldn't do what he's about to do. one of the last traits that marks him as a inferno king, is that he gets rather envious of people very easily, especially over embla, which he doesn't even know why.
STRENGTHS,
• magically adept – explaining how skillful he is in the magic category. exclusively in fire, he controls magic with an experienced grasp on it, and fire is only a small fraction of his many other spells he has in his repository. he has been taught by some of the best magicians in erion, and has the scars, bruises, and broken bones to prove that. the type and name of his other spells besides fire are currently confidential and unknown: even he doesn't have a name for all of his spells, as he doesn't have the time to think of one at all. • lie seer – explaining how he can read a person's face as if it were a book. with his emotions that are bottled up inside of him and trying to predict if a soldier is really loyal to the volkenon kingdom, he can read if a person is a liar depending on the emotions shown on their face. for a person to loose eye contact with their conversation partner shows that they are either lying, or not really sure on the subject. he does this a lot, especially with his prisoners, and embla in particular. • social conversations – explaining how onyx can have good conversations, despite him being reserved and keeping a low profile. if it's trying to get information out of someone without them knowing, or if it's to gain a friend if he's ever traveling by himself, then he has to have some sort of skill in conversations, especially trying to buy something from a peasant's food stall. he can do it, but it's harder due to him being the inferno king – if he's ever in another land and doing this, the difficulty rises, but it's nothing that he can do. • item smith – explaining how he is able to build weapons, jewelry, and other things that a person wears. ranging from a black onyx ring to a shield, he mainly specializes in things such as jewelry, but he can make a weapon if needed. all of the rings and bracelets that he makes emanates heat when ever the owner – himself – is close to the person that's wearing it. he has a lot of jewelry such as rings on his fingers; his very own, beloved creations, to the dark red necklace around his neck. sometimes, onyx is found making these type of things when ever he has free time, although he has free time or not. • immunity to high temperatures – explaining how onyx can completely withstand high temperatures, such as flames and volcanoes; since he was born in one after all. with him living in a flaming inferno and him the king of it all, he can withstand temperatures so high lik the demi-humans of his kingdom, that someone would find unusual for him to bathe in a tub that's filled with laval. a sudden change in climate – such as the cold, doesn't bother him, seeing that fire melts ice, but once water hits him, he's vulnerable.
WEAKNESSES,
• wet climates – explaining how he is weakened by wet climates, seeing that water calms down the flames by diminishing them to ash. he'll stay away from most water, especially rain, since it'll render his fire magic useless and it lets of steam on his skin as soon as a single drop touches him. places such as valhalla's peak is a great example of a cold and wet climate joined together. sure he can melt snow, but there's no way that fire can melt water – no way. • traveling – explaining how he has the weakness to travel. due to the fact that the inferno king is more powerful when around areas of fire, there isn't a lot while he travels, and thus it gives him a disadvantage. his mind get's dizzy whilst his back starts to hurt if he travels for too long, but if he's sitting on something, then that's a different job. he has never found the point of traveling away from your homeland, whilst the idea of having a companion is way out of his league. • broken bones – explaining how his body has been littered with broken bones. living for 400 years, the great titan has broken bones, albeit his true form being a fiery beast composed of metal and magma. his arms, legs, and ribs have been broken countless times, healed countless times, and the cycle repeats. the bones have grown weak due to this, but he can still get up and fight someone. just if they were broken again, it will cause a lot more pain than he already experienced when those bones were broken for the first time. • jaded – explaining how he can never let go of something that happened in the past, especially if it involves someone from another kingdom. he stays mad at a lot of things, not forgiving anyone for what they did, even if it was just a joke. a king does not have time for jokes, nor bloody massacres that involve most of his people dead, yet the enemy wants to negotiate a peace treaty soon afterwards? holding a grudge is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. • friendship – explaining how onyx is never easy with making friends and keeping them, even though he keeps a loose alliance and close ties with aesir. there are a few people that break through this immovable fortress, which is quite lucky on their part, but with him? oh no: it's difficult for him, specifically when it comes to keeping them in order. he just merely sees that making friends is a waste of time, but like said earlier – people that can crumble his stone wall down are the true friends he has. when trying to make friends, he tends to stutter and back up: so shocking for a king such as himself.
LIKES,
• hot, sweating temperatures. • watching the sun go down. • straight forward conversations. • odin. well... he has to keep close ties after all. • his people, the kingdom.
DISLIKES,
wet, crude, tormenting weather. • hot-headed, rude curs. • traveling away from his kingdom. • waking up to loud, obnoxious screeching. mentally weak minds.
SECRETS,
• whispers in the dark – whispers of the dead while being in a room surrounded by complete darkness. it's frightening; more than having dreams of your own death in various ways. he hears the rattling chains, the moaning, and conversations that these 'whispers in the dark' manage to do. sometimes, he hears the voice of his deceased father, mother, sons and daughters, but he doesn't want to admit that, and moves on as if nothing had happened. no, this is not skillet. • premonition dreams – something he doesn't want to tell anyone.. lately, he's been having dreams that show him dying of any circumstance, and if he told anyone, then it would travel out of the boundaries of his fire kingdom, and into odette's, which she'll gladly take his soul and torture him for eternity. having dreams of his death in the future forces him to stay away later than usual, causing him to become more tired than anyone else.
INVENTORY,
• gungnir spear – in translation, this is the spear that odin gave him, along with his youngest daughter, embla. not exactly his, but odin gave it to him, yes? it's made out of psyphers, crystals born from an intense concentration of phozons; the particles of life itself. the spear has a large shaft in which onyx can grab it with less distance from the top, or more distance from the top. the head of the spear is made out of psyphers - capable of piercing the sharpest of armour like it was a twig. two ribbons are tied around the base of the head; one red and one white, but not as long as the shaft. he uses this in battle the least, but uses it every so often. • athenor – this is in fact, the sword that onyx himself crafted for his usage in battle. composed of pure onyx quartz, this weapon is huge and packs a punch when it deals a blow. the handle is the mediocre size of all swords, whilst the blade appears as if it came from odette's land of endelphia, but it doesn't, of course. he made it so it would suit him, and no one else, seeing that if someone tried to wield something that mammoth sized – attacking someone is rendered useless. he holds it on his back like he does the spear, since it's too big to hold it like a regular sword on the left or right side of the body. it's six feet in length – smaller than seven feet, and it's not like some seven foot masamune. we all know who owns that weapon. • red onyx – this is another piece of jewelry made by your's truly, onyx. it's composed of onyx that's been tempered with a few times, causing it to form a dark red color, yet it looks so familiar to black. he wears it around his neck all the time with pride, it being one of his first pieces of jewelry he created after some years when he was born. a black jewel rests in the middle, and the dark red onyx surrounds it. he doesn't let anyone touch it for some reason. it just makes him even more wary of you.
SLEIGHTS,
• spartan bird – onyx summons a bird made out of his own fire, resting on his right shoulder right after it's called. the size of the bird is of a condor, but the wing size is smaller, being around six feet to be exact. he tends to tone it down the more energy that he looses, not wanting to use up too much right when he uses this bird. it's mainly for offense, and the bird attacks as he attacks. the more energy that he uses over time, the more smaller the bird becomes, until it gets to the size of a red cardinal, then it disappears, leaving him with reserving his magic reserves for this move. yes, he may have a vast magical fire reserve, but it doesn't mean that he wants to use more than half of it up right in the beginning of a fight. he whispers "nare", which means 'fly' when translated. it's so the bird goes up in the air and attacks when ever he lands a blow on the person. another way to defeat it? control the element water and you'll get somewhere. • explosion boom – this sleight, involves onyx utilizing the spear that odin gave to him, the gungnir. by making a circle ahead of him with the spear, he quickly thrusts the weapon into the middle, creating an explosion albeit the noise it creates sounds like a boom. he utilizes fire to create the explosion, and he never places a lot of fire on the head. it's always a small amount for specific reasons, such as reserving power: like he needs that -- after all, he has a vast arsenal of reserves after all. the size of the circle doesn't matter, but the speed and where the head goes through the circle is what really counts. if it's slow, then the explosion won't be as much. if it's fast, then it'll cause considerable damage. where it goes through -- for example, a bird flying through the hole in a tree in a sideways angle. the middle is always the place where it'll cause a lot of damage, but anywhere else diminishes the strength. the purpose of the circle is so he knows how strong it's going to be depending on where he hits it and at what speed. it serves as a round ruler in a sense. • scorching dive – like all of those chicle moves that involve a person jumping in the air, diving down towards earth with a spiral thrust, this is one of his sleights. by utilizing his fire and the fire around him, onyx jumps in the air first, spinning his body around with his physical strength, and as speed picks up, the fire does too. afterwards, he then dives towards earth, piercing the ground with athenor -- his sword, and creates a ring of fire around himself and the opponent. it's classified as an attack that is used when the enemy has barely any time to move, seeing that the attack area and the people wounded depends where he lands, and how large the circle is. it's usually a four to five radius sized, and anything longer will prove to use up more energy. as expected, controlling fire his merely a fraction of his vast arsenal of magic spells.
